Finally, a useful application for the iPod Touch!

bulletflight-images-pic1If you ever needed an excuse for purchasing that shiney new iPod touch, your wait has come to an end.  Thanks to Knights Armaments, you can now purchase an application ($11.99 at the App store) that aims at making you a better sniper.  It comes with a mount for your iPod Touch and attaches to the picatinny rail for easy use and operation while snipping Zombies from the safety of your local office building’s roof (what, you don’t have a contingency plan?).  It is just one more reason for me to enjoy Apple products and look forward to a possible new host of announcements from the floor of future MWSFs.  More pictures after the break.

Death of the Wiimote?

A lot of news has hit recently concerning undocumented API calls and the iPhone. First it was Google, with their Apple-sanctioned application, and now I have come across more than a view posts and videos concerning video-out for the iPhone. Normally I wouldn’t post such a thing here, as it isn’t ground breaking or all that news worthy, but I came across this video and thought - if you could remove the tether, might this spell the end of the Wiimote? Or in best case scenarios, make for a very cool option as a Wiimote 3.5 (I only say 3.5 because we are talking about an iPhone/iPod touch as a game console controller here). I’ll let you watch the video and be the judge of that.

And so begins the name calling

With the election decided and at least two of the candidates heading their separate ways, information is starting to surface that has justified, for me, the reason why I did not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.  It is not my opinion that Sarah Palin is as daft as she originally appeared or as she is now being painted.  My initial impression is that we had someone who was cracking a bit under the pressure and unaccoustomed to being forced to give scripted responses that weren’t of her own creation.  We all make mistakes, but imagine the stress and fustration that would accompany being told what to say, when to say it and that any other thoughts, ideas of comments you might have weren’t good enough.  I don’t know if this was the case, but I didn’t feel as if Sarah Palin was ever an equal on the campaign trail.  She was a failed gimmick that the McCain campaign sought to control and since Gov. Palin went along with it, it made her appear unintelligent or worse.

Damn it feels good to be an American

Not that it felt terribly bad to be an American prior to Nov. 4, it was just difficult to be proud of some of the things that had been done in the name of America under the current administration.  Despite numerous reports to the contrary, the current administration still doesn’t feel as if it has done anything wrong with the detainees at Gitmo or elsewhere.  To make matters worse, he isn’t even going to clean up his own mess, leaving it all for the next chump to handle.  But cleaned up it shall be and within a few years I am hoping we can undo much of the damage that has been done these past 8 years, both at home and overseas.
