Help! by HMX

Yesterday Oppie discovered stairs, in all of their glorious wonder. We decided to have an impromptu barbecue, and having no grill of my own, I invited a few friends to join me at a friends house. One of the occupants of the house is a rather large cat by the name of Kyo, and Oppie was all to eager to play with this new friend of his who wanted nothing more than to be left alone. Being a bit dense in that department, Oppie didn’t catch the hint and assumed that Kyo was engaging him in a game of chase that lead tot he top of a set of winding stairs. A video is available, for your viewing pleasure, after the break as well as parody of Help! by The Beatles. (more…)

Or is it?  That is what Chicago radio host Eric “Mancow” Muller thought about waterboarding until he had the unfortunate experience of being waterboarded in a demonstration meant to prove to himself and his audience, possibly even the world, that the technique was anything but torture.  When asked how Muller might respond, Marine Sergeant Clay South said:

“He’s going to wiggle, he’s going to scream, he’s going to wish he never did this.”

The end result?  Find out for yourself after the break.

Puppy gets clipped by HMX

Blythe commented yesterday that we might want to trim Oppie as a means of possibly decreasing the frequency of feces tagging along after they’ve been expelled from his body. Today, I took that to heart and instead of trimming that one specific region, I decided to trim him from the neck down. My logic was that the temperatures here are quickly approaching the triple digits and Oppie was mostly fur. It was soft, fluffy fur, but fur none-the-less and fur is warm. The work is far from being great, but it doesn’t look bad considering that i) it was my first time grooming a dog ii) Oppie refused to be still and iii) the clippers and scissors weren’t quite sure what to make of his fur. Going too far? by HMX

As a pet owner, I understand the desire of being able to take your pet with you on vacations or on cross-country moves where you plan to do as little driving as possible. Having purchased my own pet from OK, several states away, I also understand how hard on the pet a plane ride can be, no matter how short, but do we really need a separate airline for pets? The people at Pet Airways seem to believe so, and with an introductory rate of $150 for a one-way flight, they are doing better than those other airlines that cater to those of the hairless ape variety.
