Puppy gets clipped by HMX
Blythe commented yesterday that we might want to trim Oppie as a means of possibly decreasing the frequency of feces tagging along after they’ve been expelled from his body. Today, I took that to heart and instead of trimming that one specific region, I decided to trim him from the neck down. My logic was that the temperatures here are quickly approaching the triple digits and Oppie was mostly fur. It was soft, fluffy fur, but fur none-the-less and fur is warm. The work is far from being great, but it doesn’t look bad considering that i) it was my first time grooming a dog ii) Oppie refused to be still and iii) the clippers and scissors weren’t quite sure what to make of his fur.I admit, he does look a little odd and I didn’t do much to the legs, making the cut look similar to what some people do to their Schnauzers. In some places around the neck, it is a bit close (due to a squirming pup), but overall I think it looks alright. Seeing as I got nowhere near his head, it now looks huge in comparison to the rest of his body. Blythe has suggested that I take him to have the rest professionally done. I’m not sold yet and I may attempt more tomorrow upon returning home to let him out of puppy jail. It all depends on how I feel and whether or not puppy is still acting like a PAB. Our walk tonight failed, as puppy decided that he no longer wanted to follow me. My solution, I put him in puppy jail (the kitchen) which he no longer seems to mind. We’ll see how long that last once I turn out the lights to go to bed.
